HYBRID PLANT

Artificial intelligence-based forecasting for a non-managed power plant, to operate photovoltaic systems and batteries and assess their economic performance.

Integrating photovoltaic power and energy storage into an operational hydroelectric plant equipped with Archimedes screw turbines—a configuration for which there are no previous reference cases.

The system was designed to take advantage of the complementary nature of the resources without interfering with the plant’s operation, to anticipate hydroelectric generation dependent on the river and the reservoir, and to quantify the economic benefits of that flexibility.

Solution

  • Proprietary AI-powered prediction.
  • Daily planning and ongoing correction.
  • Optimization with degradation cost.
  • Service stacking engine.
  • Non-intrusive integration and traceability.

Key Facts

  • 15 kWp of photovoltaic capacity.
  • 50 kW / 85 kWh of battery capacity.
  • New and upcycled string.

Result

Validated hybridization

The project validates the integration of hybrid technology into an existing power plant without altering its operation, anticipating a resource that had not been modeled until then.

Estimated 35% increase in performance

Service stacking improves storage performance compared to simple arbitration, using a transferable and scalable methodology.
